How to Avoid Missing Your Cruise (and What to Do if You Do)
On a Virgin cruise through the Mediterranean, one of our port stops was Rome. Naturally, hundreds of passengers, myself included, planned day trips to the Eternal City. Then the trains stopped without warning, and suddenly, hundreds of cruisers were stranded.
That time, the ship waited.
Back onboard, the stories poured in from cruisers, paying outrageous prices for taxis, scrambling for rides, others stuck on trains with no way off, convinced the ship would leave without them.
The panic is real. Miss your departure, and your vacation can unravel fast. The stress hits immediately, and it becomes the opposite of what you signed up for.
Here’s what to do if you miss your cruise, and how to make sure it doesn’t happen in the first place.
