The island getaway is having a moment. According to Expedia, global interest in island destinations has jumped more than 30 percent compared to last year. Based on one million accommodation searches from travelers, the Expedia team recently released its first-ever Island Hot List, ranking the 10 most popular islands in the world.
The rankings highlight not only the postcard-perfect beaches travelers expect but also reflect a growing interest in sustainable tourism, cultural experiences, and off-peak travel.
