These Airports Offer the Most Routes Worldwide

Small airports have their perks, like short TSA lines, easy parking, and fewer crowds, but when it comes to global connections, the biggest hubs win.

A new report ranked the world’s most connected airports based not only on how many destinations they serve directly but also on how easy it is to transfer between flights. London Heathrow once again took the top spot, offering more than 59,000 possible connections to 226 destinations in a single day. In the US, several airports made the list thanks to their extensive routes and efficient layovers that help travelers rebook and reconnect faster when plans go sideways.
