United Airlines Announces the Start of 17 New International Flight Routes

Late last year, United Airlines announced its largest international expansion in decades — introducing 17 new routes for 2025, including destinations not served by any other US airline. The new routes will begin rolling out to travelers in July 2025, featuring brand-new nonstop flights to remote locations like Nuuk, Greenland, and Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, along with a broad mix of direct connections to global destinations.

Travel news to note: RIP, free luggage. Southwest Airlines, the last major US airline offering complimentary checked bags, has officially ended that policy as of today.

With June just around the corner, mark your calendar for summer solstice celebrations, iconic music festivals, and colorful Pride parades:

  • US

    • CMA Fest (June 5–8, Nashville, TN): The Super Bowl for country music fans.

    • Bonnaroo (June 12–15, Manchester, TN): For indie vibes and all-out festival energy.

    • Juneteenth Atlanta Parade and Music Festival (June 14-15, Atlanta, GA): One of the largest Juneteenth celebrations in the U.S., honoring Black freedom and culture.

    • SF Pride (June 28–29, San Francisco, CA): One of the most iconic Pride celebrations in the world.

  • Spain

    • Primavera Sound (June 4–8, Barcelona): Music festival with pop headliners including Charli XCX, Sabrina Carpenter, and Chappell Roan.

  • England

    • Glastonbury Festival (June 25–29, Somerset): Pack your wellies and enjoy legends like The 1975, Neil Young, and Rod Stewart.
